              Post 3

              Download This

-In this exercise we will try to blend an image to a background by softening the contours and changing colors
              - Start by downloading the material, save it in the D drive in M2, open it with photoshop:

              - First thing we have to fix is the contour of Lara, it needs to be blended to the background.
              - Select Lara's layer
              - Choose the Magic wand and select the empty space around Lara
              - Go to Select->Modify->Expand and set it to 2 pixels click ok.
              - This way we select the contour of Lara.
              - We apply a Blur filter to it.
              - Go to Fiter->Blur->Gaussian Blur and set it to 1.2, click ok.

              - We need to now change the color of Lara to be more orange so it looks like the light around here is affecting her color.

              - Go to Image->Adjustments->Color Balance and adjust the sliders by adding some red and yellow.

              - We need to give her a little more contrast
              - Go to Image->Adjustments->Curve then pull the curve from the middle a little upwards you will see Lara brighter click ok

-We are going to add some back light to her as well to do that we will use a quick mask

              - Press Q
              - Go to the fill tool that looks like a small bucket
              - Select black color and click on the screen, it will make the screen red
              - Select white color and using the Brush (shortcut "B")  paint parts of Lara that we want to light up, don't forget you can resize the brush.

              - I painted the contour of her arm, which looks like an erased area
              - Once you are done press Q
              - Go back to Image->Adjustments->Curves and move the middle of the curve up until you can see brightness coming from Lara's back arm.
              -Press Ctrl+D to deselect.
              - Do this all around until you think it looks good for you.

Post 1 Create a magazine cover

First project will be to create a magazine cover, can be any kind here is an example.

              To do this we need:
              - Create a new document (File->New) and make it 1200 pix wide and 1600 pix high.
              - Create a new layer
Image result for new layer icon CS3
              - Delete the "Background" layer, by selecting it and then clicking the trash icon next to the new layer icon.
-Two main objects which are one punch man and godzilla, and I used Genos on the side as a joke.
              - First we find pictures of them in the internet

              - To correctly add the image to our new document you need to copy the image from the website by right click and "copy image", then go to photoshop and press Ctrl+V (paste). If you try to drag and drop an image that you already downloaded you will open a new document in photoshop instead of adding the image to the document we created.
              - Now we crop the image using the magnetic lasso tool

Image result for magnetic lasso icon CS3
-We crop around it until we get one punch man by himself

              - We do the same with any image we want to use without its background, like Godzilla and Genos.
              - We find a suitable background

              - Once we have all these images in layers in photoshop we arrange them the way we want it.
              - Here is my layout

              - Then we add some text and anything we want to make it look better.
